Community-powered · Anniversary Premium Tracker

What are pet owners really paying at renewal?

Every insurer quotes you your initial premium. But what will your premium be at your policy anniversary? Or the one after that?. This is a community project to fix that. Share your renewal premium anonymously, and once enough owners with a similar pet and policy have done the same, see how yours compares.

This feature needs FurWise's backend, which isn't switched on for this preview yet. The form and comparison view below are fully built and ready to go — once the backend is deployed (see the developer notes), everything on this page will work end to end. In the meantime, feel free to click around and see how it's designed to work.

Excess type and co-payment are set by the plan you chose above. Where a plan only offers one, it's filled in automatically; where it offers a real choice (a handful of plans do), pick the one you're actually on.

Enter the amount as it's actually billed. We'll convert it to an annual figure for the comparison.

How this works — and what it doesn't claim to be

Where the numbers come from. Every figure on this page is self-reported by a FurWise visitor, describing their own pet and their own policy's anniversary premium. FurWise doesn't verify these figures with the insurer, there's no way for us to.

Premium comparisons only appears once there are 3 reports. A single self-reported number could be a typo, an unusual case, or simply not representative. Waiting for at least 3 reports for the same species, breed, insurer, plan, sum insured, excess type and co-payment band before showing anything gives a first, rough sense that the numbers are pointing in a similar direction.

What we do to catch obviously wrong numbers. Once a group has enough reports to have a real median, a new entry that's wildly out of line (for example, more than 2.5 times higher) is held back from the public comparison for a review by a person, rather than shown immediately. This catches typos and bad actors, it can't catch a number that's simply wrong but plausible-looking, which is exactly why this is a estimate, not a verified figure.

If your exact combination doesn't have enough reports yet. We fall back to showing every report for that insurer's plan, across all sum insured / excess / co-payment combinations, once that broader group has 3 or more reports.

This never affects FurWise's comparison. Every fact FurWise shows is generated from published policy wording alone — see How It Works. Anniversary premium data is a separate, additional information point shown alongside the comparison, never an input into it.

Not financial advice, and not a quote. What another pet owner paid at their renewal is not a prediction of what you'll pay at yours. Premiums depend on your pet's individual health history, claims history, age, region, and the insurer's own pricing changes, none of which this tool can see. Use it as one more data point, alongside reading your own Policy Document and, if needed, speaking with a licensed financial adviser.

Where this data also goes. Aggregated and anonymised anniversary premium trends may also be included in the benchmarking reports FurWise sells to participating insurers — see How we make money and our Privacy Policy .

Just renewed? You're the missing data point.

It takes about 90 seconds, it's completely anonymous, and it's the only way this gets more useful, for you and for every other pet owner using FurWise.
